Defect: General Motors (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Chevrolet Silverado Medium Duty 4500HD, 5500HD, and 6500HD vehicles. The brake pressure sensor assembly may leak brake fluid into the brake pressure switch and cause a short circuit. (excerpt)
Consequence: An electrical short in the brake pressure switch can overheat the circuit and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked. (excerpt)
Remedy: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will replace the brake pressure switch wire harness, free of charge. Date: 2021-05-13. Systems: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING.
Defect: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Chevrolet 6500HD vehicles. The engine control module (ECM) was calibrated incorrectly, allowing the vehicle to exceed the tires' maximum speed rating of 75 mph.
Consequence: Tire failure can occur if the vehicle speed exceeds the maximum tire speed rating, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the ECM software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 7, 2021. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N202325530.
