Defect: ElDorado National-Kansas Inc. (ElDorado) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 Aerotech 240 vehicles, equipped with certain Ricon S series and K series wheelchair lifts with an optional armored pendant cable. The armored cable may be positioned such that it does not clear the wheelchair lift.
Consequence: If the cable does not clear the wheel chair lift it may contact the power lug and if it does not have a nonconductive cover, or it has an improperly installed non-conductive cover, then a short circuit may occur that could result in a fire.
Remedy: ElDorado will notify owners, and Ricon will send the owner a supplemental cover kit and instructions free of charge. The recall began July 17, 2014. Owners may contact ElDorado customer service at 1-800-850-1287 or Ricon Customer Service at 1-800-322-2884 or by e-mail at recall.admin@wabtec.com. ElDorado's number for this recall is 14E-010.

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
