Defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH TRW 20-EDL BALL-SOCKET ASSEMBLIES. CERTAIN OF THE BALL-SOCKET BEARINGS HAVE A BELOW SPECIFICATION CASE DEPTH AND/OR HARDNESS WHICH CAN LEAD TO PREMATURE WEAR OUT OF THE SOCKET. THESE BEARINGS WERE PRODUCED BETWEEN JULY 5 AND OCTOBER 3, 1999.
Consequence: IF THIS CONDITION OCCURS, THE DRIVER CAN LOSE PARTIAL CONTROL OF THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BALL-SOCKET ASSEMBLIES.
Defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CLASS A MOTOR HOMES. DURING ICY CONDITIONS, THE WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES COULD STICK TO THE WINDSHIELD WHEN THE SYSTEM IS TURNED ON CAUSING THE MOTOR SHAFT TO SPIN ON THE DRIVE ARM IF THE PIVOT NUT IS NOT PROPERLY TORQUED.
Consequence: LOSS OF VISIBILITY COULD OCCUR, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE TORQUE OF THE PIVOT NUT ON THE DRIVE AND DRIVE ARM.

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
