One complaint can name several systems, so shares can add to more than 100 percent.
Confidence is the model's own probability for the label it chose (0 to 1), not accuracy.
Model-generated labels on tagged complaints only. Model years 2013 and newer are tagged in full; 2012 in part (see tagged_share); earlier model years have no tags. NHTSA's own flags remain separate in the complaints block.
Defect: Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2016-2021 Imagine, Transcend, and Momentum travel trailers. The LP regulator that controls the LP gas pressure may fail, allowing excessive gas pressure that causes the appliance flame to increase.
Consequence: Excessive gas pressure and a larger than intended appliance flame can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the LP regulator, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 24, 2021. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910023.
Defect: Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Reflection and Imagine travel trailers equipped with a Smart-Jack model power tongue jack. The laminated plastic touch pad on the jack may crack or separate allowing water to enter, potentially causing the jack to operate unintentionally.
Consequence: If the tongue jack retracts or extends unexpectedly, there could be an increased risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Grand Design will notify owners, and dealers will replace the power tongue jack, free of charge. The recall began on December 29, 2017. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 900012.
Defect: Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Imagine recreational trailers. The wires at the air conditioning unit may detach from the connector and the loose wires may short circuit.
Consequence: A short circuit increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Grand Design has notified owners, and dealers will change the existing wire connectors for the air conditioning unit to positive retention wire connectors, free of charge. The recall began on October 23, 2017. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910010.
Defect: Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Imagine travel trailers. The screws that secure the slide room mechanism columns may shear, allowing the slide room to extend while the trailer is being towed.
Consequence: If the slide room opens during transit there would be an increased risk of a crash.
Remedy: Grand Design will notify owners, and dealers will replace the slide mechanism column securing screws, free of charge. The recall began on May 15, 2017. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910009.

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
