Defect: Hino Motors Sales U.S.A., Inc. (Hino Motors) is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 XJC and XFC vehicles manufactured February 17, 2011, to October 31, 2014. The brake warning lamp that is supposed to illuminate in the event of a loss of brake fluid pressure or that there is low brake fluid may not operate correctly due to a software programming issue. Consequence: If the warning lamp does not illuminate in the event of low pressure or low brake fluid volume, the driver will not be warned of the potential for a reduction or loss of braking capability, increasing the risk of a crash. (excerpt)
