One complaint can name several systems, so shares can add to more than 100 percent.
Model-generated complaint tags: This model year has not been tagged.
Defect: Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2011 and 2013 Jay Series BB, BC and BD camping trailers equipped with a Lippert Power Roof Lift Mechanism. The manual over-ride feature on these power lifts may be misused, potentially resulting in torque from the drive motor damaging the lift mechanism.
Consequence: Damage to the lift mechanism may cause the roof to fall unexpectedly, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Jayco will notify owners and will provide a warning label to instruct owners of the proper use of the manual over-ride feature, free of charge. The recall began on June 26, 2018. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901379.
Defect: Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V746-9524.pdf. Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury. (excerpt)
Remedy: Jayco will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information. Defect: Jayco is recalling certain model year 2011 Jay Series pop-up camping trailers. In these vehicles, if a component failure occurs in the roof lifter system, the failure may cause the roof to abruptly collapse to the closed position.
Consequence: If the roof abruptly closes, there is an increased risk of personal injury.
Remedy: Jayco will notify owners and dealers will add a metal stop that prevents to sudden collapse of the roof, free of charge. The recall began on December 19, 2013. Owners may contact Jacyo at 1-800-283-8267 for more information.

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
