Defect: CERTAIN TRAVEL AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF PART 567, "CERTIFICATION," AND FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 110, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS." THE INFORMATION PROVIDED ON THE CERTIFICATION AND TIRE INFORMATION LABELS DENOTING THE TIRE PRESSURE IS INCORRECT.
Consequence: A MISPRINTED LABEL COULD LEAD TO IMPROPER VEHICLE LOADING SPECIFICATIONS OR TIRE INFLATION WHICH COULD RESULT IN A TIRE FAILURE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REMOVE THE INCORRECT FEDERAL CERTIFICATION LABEL AND INSTALL A NEW CORRECTED FEDERAL CERTIFICATION LABEL FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 3, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KOMFORT AT 937-596-6849.
Defect: CERTAIN TRAVEL AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS WERE BUILT WITH INCORRECTLY SIZED WHEELS. THE INCORRECT WIDER RIM DOES NOT ALLOW PROPER CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE SHOCK ABSORBER, SHOCK BRACKETS, AND THE TIRE.
Consequence: THIS REDUCED CLEARANCE MAY CAUSE THE TIRE TO RUB ON THE CHASSIS RESULTING IN TIRE FAILURE. THIS FAILURE MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: KOMFORT WILL REPLACE THE WHEELS AND TIRES OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 3, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KOMFORT AT 1-503 722-5199.
