THE WINDOWS WERE PRODUCED WITH INCONSISTENT PRIMING ON THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY BOND LINES.

Consequence: THE PURPOSE OF THIS STANDARD IS TO MINIMIZE THE LIKELIHOOD OF OCCUPANTS BEING THROWN FROM THE BUS AND TO PROVIDE A MEANS OF READILY ACCESSIBLE EMERGENCY EGRESS.

Remedy: MCI WILL NOTIFY OWNERS INSTRUCTING THEM TO INSPECT THE WINDOWS FOR SIGNS OF WATER LEAK, WIND NOISE, OR VISIBLE PARTIAL DE-BONDING. WINDOWS SHOWING THESE SIGNS WILL BE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE BY DURA (PLEASE SEE 07E042). THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 27, 2007. OWNERS CAN CONTACT DURA AT 1-248-844-1615 OR MCI AT 1-800-241-2947.

MCI Driveshaft Safety Loop Failures

ODI has identified certain MCI coaches with powertrain configurations that may allow a driveshaft separated at the rearward universal joint to escape the guardian structure of the steerable tag axle and damage steering and braking components. The damaged components may increase the risk of a loss of vehicle control. The subject coaches include 806 model year 1992 through 2012 MCI D and E series mot

Notes on this record

  • Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
  • System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
  • Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
  • A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
  • NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
