Defect: ON CERTAIN CLASS A MOTOR HOMES EQUIPPED WITH DETROIT DIESEL SERIES C-60 ENGINES, THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE (ECM) WILL REQUIRE TO BE REPROGRAMMED TO CURRENT MAINFRAME CALIBRATIONS.
Consequence: REPROGRAMMING THE ECM WILL PREVENT THE POTENTIAL OF A TURBOCHARGER FAILURE FROM PROGRESSING TO AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE.
Remedy: DETROIT DIESEL IS CONDUCTING THIS RECALL (PLEASE SEE 06E019000) AND WILL REPROGRAM THE ECM TO CURRENT MAINFRAME CALIBRATIONS FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DETROIT DIESEL AT 313-592-3708 OR MONACO AT 1-800-685-6545.
Date: 2004-07-06. Systems: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC.
Defect: CERTAIN MOTORHOMES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 135, "BRAKE SYSTEMS." THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) LIGHTS ARE NOT VISIBLE ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OF THE DASH.
Consequence: WITHOUT THE ABS INDICATOR LIGHTS TO WARN THE DRIVER THAT THERE IS A FAULT IN THE ABS SYSTEM, THEY MAY NOT BE PREPARED TO REACT PROPERLY TO CURRENT ROAD CONDITIONS AND/OR TRAFFIC FLOW. A CRASH COULD OCCUR WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REWIRE PLUGS TO CORRECT THE SIGNAL FROM THE ABS MODULE AND THE INSTALLATION OF AMBER COLORED LIGHTS TO THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OF THE DASHBOARD. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 23, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MONACO AT 1-800-685-6545.

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
