Defect: Nova Bus is recalling certain model year 2001-2004 LFS buses manufactured January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2004. The affected vehicles have certain air hoses that may have been incorrectly connected to the R14 valve, causing a delay when applying the parking brake.
Consequence: A delay in the application of the parking brake may result in the bus rolling forward or rearward a few feet, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Nova Bus is confirming that all buses were inspected and repaired. Nova Bus will notify the owner of any unremedied bus and dealers will correct the hose connection, free of charge. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR3405.
Date: 2008-04-01. Systems: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING.
Defect: NOVA BUS IS RECALLING 19 MY 2003-2006 LFS TRANSIT BUSES BUILT WITH CUMMINS ISL ENGINES WHICH WERE EQUIPPED WITH CM850 FUEL SYSTEMS. THE ENGINE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINES FROM THE ENGINE HIGH PRESSURE PUMP TO THE ENGINE FUEL RAIL ARE PRONE TO FAILURE. FAILURE TYPICALLY OCCURS AT OR UNDER THE FUEL LINE FITTING ATTACHMENTS.
Consequence: THE INTRODUCTION OF HIGH PRESSURE ATOMIZED FUEL INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT CREATES A RISK OF FIRE DUE TO POSSIBLE IGNITION WHEN THE FUEL VAPOR COMES IN CONTACT WITH HOT SURFACES.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE NECESSARY FUEL LINE FITTINGS AND BRACKETS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING APRIL 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NOVA BUS AT 1-450-472-6410.

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
