Defect: Spartan Motors USA (Spartan) is recalling certain model year 2011-2017 Transit Bus Chassis Cabs manufactured February 17, 2011, to October 19, 2016. The affected vehicles have an exhaust tube that may disconnect at a joint near the underside of the floor, potentially exposing the floor to high temperatures for prolonged time periods.
Consequence: If the floor is exposed to the heat of exhaust gases for long periods, it can increase the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Spartan will notify owners, and dealers will remove the current securing clamp and install a sleeve with different clamps, free of charge. The recall began on November 29, 2016. Owners may contact Spartan customer service at 1-800-543-4277. Spartan's number for this recall is 16026.

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
