Defect: Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain model year 2015 Challenger, Four Winds 5000, Hurricane, Miramar, Chateau Citation, Chateau, Windsport, and Palazzo motorhomes manufactured April 24, 2014, to December 11, 2014, and equipped with certain Latitude awnings manufactured by Carefree of Colorado. The affected awnings may have screws that attach the lateral arm brackets to the mounting bracket (excerpt)
Consequence: The screws could fail, causing the supporting bracket to fail, and the awning to fall and potentially strike and injure a person beneath it. (excerpt)
Remedy: TMC will notify owners, and dealers will remove and replace the defective screws, free of charge. The recall began January 23, 2015. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020. TMC's number for this recall is RC000097. (excerpt)

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
This record lists no complaint under this name, and zero is not confirmed in this data build; the notes below give the reason.
NHTSA lists complaints for this model year under related names: FOUR WINDS (3). They are counted on those records, not here. Zero is not confirmed for this name.
