Defect: Vactor Manufacturing (Vactor) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 HXX and Guzzler vacuum trucks equipped with an Alkota water heater. These trucks were not equipped with an oil primary control. If the burner for the water heater fails to ignite normally, fuel can accumulate in the water heater combustion chamber.
Consequence: If fuel accumulates, when the burner is lit, there may be a larger than normal flame which could lead to a vehicle fire.
Remedy: Vactor will notify owners, and dealers will replace the burner assembly, free of charge. The recall began during April 2013. Customers may contact Vactor at 1-815-672-3171. Vactor's recall number is SB-263.

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
