Defect: Vermeer Manufacturing Company (Vermeer) is recalling certain model year 2008-2016 Vermeer BC1000XL, 2013-2016 BC700XL, 2012-2016 BC900XL, 2009-2016 BC1200XL, 2003-2016 BC1800XL, 2005-2014 BC600XL, 2005-2016 SC802 and 2005-2013 SC602 Brush Chippers and Stump Cutters. These models have LED side markers lights that do not have reflectors built into the lenses, reducing the visibility of the vehicle (excerpt)
Consequence: The absence of reflectors could reduce the ability for others to see the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. (excerpt)

Defect: Vermeer is recalling certain model year 2012 BC1200XL brush chipper trailers because the lug nuts may not have been properly torqued. As a result, the lug nuts could loosen and the wheels could separate from the bush chipper.
Consequence: If the wheels separate from the brush chipper, there is an increased risk of personal injury, property damage or a crash.
Remedy: Vermeer will notify owners, and dealers will properly torque the lug nuts, free of charge. The recall began on August 21, 2012. Owners may contact Vermeer at 1-641-628-3141.
Defect: Vermeer is recalling certain model year 2009-2012 single axle brush chipper trailers because the axle mounting bolts could loosen, leading to axle separation from the brush chipper.
Consequence: If the axle separates from the brush chipper, there is an increased risk of a crash.
Remedy: Vermeer will notify owners, and dealers will replace the mounting bolts, free of charge. The recall began ion August 21, 2012. Owners may contact Vermeer at 641-628-3141.
