Defect: Vermeer Manufacturing Company (Vermeer) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Vermeer-Freeman TR620 trailers manufactured August 8, 2014, to June 17, 2016, and TR626 trailers manufactured May 5, 2015, to June 17, 2016, equipped with certain Bendix SR5 spring brake valves. These valves may have been improperly machined which may cause a delay of application of the spring brakes while parking.
Consequence: If there is a delay of the spring brake application, the trailer may roll away after it has decoupled from the tractor, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
Remedy: Bendix and Vermeer Freeman will work together to send necessary parts and instructions to repair the spring brake valve. Dealers will be reimbursed for their parts and labor. Vermeer issued an interim notification to owners on August 19, 2016 for remedy not available. Owners may contact Vermeer Customer Service Department at 1-641-628-3141. Vermeer's number for this recall is VFK3104.

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
