1 recalls.

05V528000

Date: 2005-11-17. Systems: EQUIPMENT.

Defect: CERTAIN AMBULANCES BUILT ON FORD E350 AND CHEVROLET GMT610 VAN. FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 110, "TIRE SELECTION AND RIMS." THESE AMBULANCES HAVE THE INCORRECT OR MISSING TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATION PLACARDS IN THE DRIVER'S DOOR JAMB. THIS INFORMATION WILL AID IN LOADING THE AMBULANCE TO AVOID EXCEEDING THE GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING.

Consequence: A MISPRINTED LABEL WOULD LEAD TO IMPROPER VEHICLE LOADING SPECIFICATIONS OR TIRE INFLATION WHICH COULD RESULT IN A TIRE FAILURE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: OWNERS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH NEW TIRE INFORMATION PLACARDS AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. AT THE CUSTOMER'S OPTION, A DEALER CAN PERFORM THE INSTALLATION FOR THEM. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON NOVEMBER 29, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT WHEELED COACH AT 1-800-628-8178.

Do not drive: No. Park outside: No.

Notes on this record

  • Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
  • System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
  • Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
  • A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
  • NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
