4 recalls.

24V432000

Date: 2024-06-13. Systems: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

Defect: Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2024 Interstate motorhomes. The 12-volt in-line fuse that provides back-up power to the water heater/furnace system was not installed.

Consequence: A missing fuse cannot prevent the supply wire from overheating during a short circuit, increasing the risk of fire.

Remedy: Dealers will install a 12-volt fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 9, 2024. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at support@airstream.com, 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-611 ext. 7401.

Do not drive: No. Park outside: No.

23V772000

Date: 2023-11-17. Systems: EQUIPMENT.

Defect: Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Interstate 19, Interstate 24, Interstate 24X, Rangeline and Atlas motorhomes. The Federal Certification Label and Tire Placard may indicate incorrect tire pressure and tire size. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Consequence: Incorrect tire information can result in under-inflated tires or installing the incorrect-size tires, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Airstream will mail corrected labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 15, 2023. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411.

23V519000

Defect: Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Bambi, Basecamp, Caravel, Flying Cloud, Globetrotter, International, and Interstate travel trailers. The SmartPlug 30 Amp inlet manufactured with the manganese bronze D-rings may crack or fail when over tightened.

Consequence: A D-ring that cracks or fails may allow wires to loosen, causing electrical arcing and increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the SmartPlug 30-amp inlet as needed, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 8, 2023. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411.

23V454000

Date: 2023-06-28. Systems: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

Defect: Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Interstate 24 and Interstate 19 motorhomes. The main cable from the battery to the fuse panel may be under-protected by a 200-amp fuse, which could allow the wiring to overheat in the event of a short circuit.

Consequence: Wiring that overheats can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the 200-amp fuse with a 50-amp fuse, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 14, 2023. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411.

Notes on this record

  • Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
  • System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
  • Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
  • A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
  • NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
