Defect: ON CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY CLASS 8 XPEDITOR TRUCKS, SOME OF THE SEAT BASE MOUNTING FASTENERS THAT SECURE THE SEAT BASE TO THE CAB FLOOR BRACKET MAY HAVE BEEN LEFT LOOSE OR NOT INSTALLED AT ALL. IMPROPERLY TORQUED SEAT-MOUNTING FASTENERS MAY ALLOW MOVEMENT OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT WHILE HE/SHE IS OPERATING THE VEHICLE.
Consequence: THIS MOVEMENT COULD RESULT IN A TEMPORARY LOSS OF CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 22, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT AUTOCAR AT 1-877-973-3486, EXT. 2572 OR GO TO WWW.AUTOCARTRUCK.COM.
Defect: ON CERTAIN HEAVY-DUTY CLASS 8 VEHICLES, THE TABS ON SOME OF THE LIFT AXLE SPINDLE NUTS MAY HAVE BEEN BROKEN DURING ASSEMBLY. WHEN IN PLACE, THE TABS ON THE NUTS PREVENT THE NUTS FROM LOOSENING.
Consequence: WHEN THE TABS ARE BROKEN, THE POSSIBILITY EXISTS THAT THE NUT MIGHT SPIN OFF. IF THIS HAPPENS, THE WHEEL AND WHEEL END ASSEMBLY COULD FALL OFF, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE LIFT AXLE SPINDLE NUT. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 5, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT AUTOCAR AT 1-765-489-5499.
Defect: ON CERTAIN HEAVY DUTY CLASS 8 TRUCKS, THE BOLT ON THE STEERING SHAFT MAY NOT BE TIGHTENED TO THE CORRECT SPECIFICATION AND THE POSSIBILITY EXISTS THAT DUE TO THE LOOSE NUT, THE YOKE BOLT COULD SLIDE OUT PARTIALLY AND LIMIT THE ROTATION ON THE STEERING SHAFT.
Consequence: THIS COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE STEERING BOLT AND TIGHTEN IF NECESSARY FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 25, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT AUTOCAR AT 1-765-489-5499.

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
