Defect: E-One Incorporated (E-One) is recalling certain model year 2012-2016 E-One Pumpers manufactured January 1, 2012, to June 23, 2016 and built on a Ford F-550 chassis modified to be equipped with driveline-driven ("split-shaft") pumps. The bearings and drive shafts of the pumps may loosen due to high vibration levels, such as those created when the vehicle is driven above 65 MPH.
Consequence: If the bearings or drive shafts loosen, parts may fall from the vehicle becoming road hazards, the pump may not function to assist in fire fighting or there may be a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: E-One will notify owners, and Ford dealers will recalibrate the vehicle to be speed limited to 65 MPH, free of charge. The recall began on November 29, 2016. Owners may contact E-One customer service at 1-352-861-3612.

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
