Defect: GENIE IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 TZ-34 AND TZ-50 VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM APRIL 1 THROUGH AUGUST 31, 2009, EQUIPPED WITH TRAILER MOUNTED AERIAL WORK PLATFORM BOOMS. MATERIAL USED IN THE PLATFORM SUPPORT COMPONENTS WAS NOT IN COMPLIANCE THE MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS.
Consequence: THIS COULD RESULT IN CRACKING OF THE SUPPORTING STRUCTURE AND ULTIMATELY RESULT IN THE PLATFORM FALLING, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN PERSONAL INJURY TO THE OPERATOR.
Remedy: GENIE WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPAIRS WILL BE PERFORMED BY AUTHORIZED GENIE DEALERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 31, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT GENIE AT 1-800-536-1800.
