Consequence: IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR, AND THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE WERE OPEN, PLASTIC FRAGMENTS FROM THE ELBOW COULD CAUSE INJURY TO PEOPLE IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WILL STOP RUNNING DUE TO INADEQUATE FUEL SUPPLY. (excerpt)
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A TEMPORARY INLET ELBOW THAT IS REINFORCED WITH A FIBERGLASS WRAP. THE INSTALLATION OF THIS TEMPORARY ELBOW WILL ELIMINATE THE SAFETY CONDITION.
