Defect: KTM North America, Inc. (KTM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Husqvarna FE 350 S and FE 501 S motorcycles manufactured from July 23, 2014, to October 17, 2014. In the forks of the affected motorcycles, the threaded connection between the piston rod and fork cap may not have been sufficiently tightened and therefore the piston rod could become stuck within the fork leg.
Consequence: If the piston rod detaches within the fork leg, the front suspension could malfunction and destabilize the motorcycle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: KTM will notify owners, and Husqvarna motorcycle dealers will inspect the torque of the fork piston rod to the fork cap, correcting it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began January 21, 2015. Owners may contact KTM customer service at 1-888-985-6090. KTM's number for this recall is TB 1503. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V-772 in its entirety.
Do not drive: No. Park outside: No.

Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
