Defect: International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2025-2027 IC Bus EVSB and CESB school buses. The driver's window panel and entrance door vertical joints may have been attached without sufficient epoxy coverage. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength."

Consequence: The body panels may separate during a crash, reducing structural integrity and increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will install rivets along the driver's side window seam and entrance door seam, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 8, 2026. Owners may contact International's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 26511.

Consequence: An incorrect GVWR may lead to unintentionally overloading the bus, increasing the risk of a crash.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 403, "Platform Lift Systems."

Consequence: A bus that moves while the platform lift is in operation increases the risk of injury.

Consequence: Headlight low beam failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
