Defect: International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2022-2027 IC Bus EVSB school buses. The high voltage disconnect switch may fail to shut off power to the battery.
Consequence: Switch failure may lead to unintentionally working on an energized high voltage battery, increasing the risk of injury or death by electrical shock.
Remedy: Dealers will repair the high voltage disconnect connector bypass circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 4, 2026. Owners may contact International's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 26505. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning June 1, 2026.
Defect: Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2021-2024 IC Bus RE, 2022-2024 IC Bus CE, and IC Bus EV school buses. The anti-lock brake system (ABS) indicator light does not remain illuminated when a malfunction exists, and when the vehicle's ignition switch is on, and the vehicle is in motion. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (excerpt)
Consequence: An ABS indicator light that fails to remain illuminated will not alert the driver of an ABS malfunction, which could increase the risk of a crash. (excerpt)
Remedy: Dealers will update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 24, 2023. Owners may contact Navistar's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 23516. (excerpt)

This document will walk the user through correcting the battery State of Charge (SOC) calibration. It has been found on some electric vehicles that the SOC calibration can become incorrect over time. Often times this is from the vehicle sitting a long period without use or charging the batteries. Th
Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
