Defect: PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Peterbilt 220 and Kenworth K300 trucks manufactured September 1, 2014, to March 30, 2015. Each time the cruise control speed decrease button is pressed, the vehicle speed will actually increase by one mile per hour.
Consequence: If a driver is intending to slow down a vehicle but instead it inadvertently speeds up, there is an increased risk of a crash.
Remedy: PACCAR will notify owners, and dealers will update the cab controller software, free of charge. The recall began on June 5, 2015. Owners may contact Peterbilt customer service at 1-940-591-4000, or Kenworth customer service at 1-425-828-5000. PACCAR's numbers for this recall are 415-E and 15KWC.

Consequence: An unexpected engine shut down increases the risk of a crash. (excerpt)
Remedy: PACCAR will notify owners, and dealers will install nylon tie straps to hold the connectors in place until the permanent remedy, a connection position device, becomes available. Both remedies will be provided free of charge. The recall began January 29, 2015. For more information, Peterbilt owners may call 1-940-591-4220 and Kenworth owners may call 1-425-828-5000. Notes on this record
Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
