Date: 2026-04-06. Systems: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EQUIPMENT.

Defect: Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2015-2026 Arrow XT, Enforcer, Impel, and Velocity 107a ladder and 110a platform aerial firetrucks equipped with a single rear axle. The firm-on-ground system light may remain illuminated after the rear stabilizer loses contact with the ground.

Consequence: A false firm-on-ground indicator light may lead to using the aerial device when the vehicle may shift during aerial operation, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Pierce will provide instructions on how to update the vehicle software and perform an aerial device functional check, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 29, 2026. Owners may contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723.

Do not drive: No. Park outside: No.

Defect: Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2020 Enforcer, 2021-2022 Velocity, and 2023 Saber vehicles equipped with a specific rear bumper option. The bumper may partially obstruct the rear lights. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: Partially obstructed rear lights can reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Pierce will reposition the lights, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 15, 2024. Owners may contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723. Pierce's number for this recall is 74B333.

Date: 2023-12-07. Systems: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

Defect: Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Arrow XT, Enforcer, and Velocity mid-mount tower trucks equipped with an aerial platform basket. The electrical connector to the aerial turntable wiring harness may not be properly secured, which can result in connector corrosion and affect the leveling ability of the platform basket.

Consequence: An inability for the platform basket to maintain level can result in the basket tipping, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Pierce will replace the aerial turntable wiring harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 14, 2023. Owners may contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723. Pierce's number for this recall is 74B330.

Date: 2023-02-17. Systems: EQUIPMENT.

Defect: Pierce Manufacturing (Pierce) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Velocity, Impel, Enforcer, and Arrow XT 110-foot aerial trucks. When the aerial platform is extended to its maximum angle, the platform mounting bracket may interfere with the basket handrail hinge peg and cause the handrail to detach from the basket.

Consequence: A basket handrail that unexpectedly detaches from the basket may increase the risk of injury to first responders using the handrail or to individuals on the ground near the vehicle.

Remedy: Dealers will install new basket handrail hinge pegs, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 16, 2023. Owners may contact Pierce customer service at 1-888-974-3723. Pierce's number for this recall is 74B326.

Consequence: The left and/or right brackets can fail, allowing the stokes basket to fall and increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Pierce will replace the stokes basket mounting brackets, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 14, 2022. Owners may contact Pierce's customer service at 1-888-974-3723. Pierce's number for this recall is 74B323.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the steering gears, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on October 4, 2022. Owners may contact Pierce's customer service at 1-888-974-3723. Pierce's number for this recall is 74B321.

Notes on this record

  • Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
  • System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
  • Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
  • A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
  • NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
