4 recalls.

24V179000

Date: 2024-03-06. Systems: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

Defect: Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2024 H3-45 and H3-45 VIP vehicles. The grommet that protects the battery cables passing through a metallic panel was improperly installed, allowing the cables to chafe on the edges of the panel and potentially short circuit.

Consequence: An electrical short circuit increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, a vehicle fire may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.

Remedy: Prevost will inspect and reinstall the grommet, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2024. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR24-12.

Do not drive: No. Park outside: No.

23V805000

Date: 2023-12-01. Systems: FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE, STRUCTURE.

Defect: Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2024 H3-45 and 2022-2024 H3-45 VIP motorcoaches equipped with Prevost Driver Assist. The radar sensor may be obstructed by an incorrect front bumper trim panel, causing the driver assist system to not function properly.

Consequence: A driver assist system that does not function properly may engage the brakes unexpectedly or fail to engage the brakes as intended, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Prevost will inspect and replace the front bumper panel as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2024. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR23-43.

Do not drive: No. Park outside: No.

23V761000

Date: 2023-11-10. Systems: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

Defect: Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2024 H3-45, 2023-2024 H3-45 VIP, X3-45 VIP, X3-45 VIP Entertainer, and 2023 X3-45 motor coaches. The grid heater cables that connect to the relay may have a loose connection and cause the relay to overheat.

Consequence: A relay that overheats can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Prevost will inspect and replace damaged components, and tighten the grid heater relay nuts, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 30, 2023. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-908-222-7211. Prevost's number for this recall is SR23-42.

Do not drive: No. Park outside: No.

23V474000

Date: 2023-07-11. Systems: EXTERIOR LIGHTING.

Defect: Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2023-2024 H3-45 and 2022-2024 H3-45 VIP vehicles. The right front turn signal light may fail when the turn signal or hazard warning lights are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence: An inoperative front turn signal may not notify other drivers of a turning vehicle, while inoperative hazard warning lights reduce the vehicle visibility to other drivers, both increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Prevost will install enhanced headlight wiring that includes additional resistors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 30, 2023. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR23-19.

Do not drive: No. Park outside: No.

Notes on this record

  • Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
  • System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
  • Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
  • A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
  • This record lists no complaint under this name, and zero is not confirmed in this data build; the notes below give the reason.
  • NHTSA lists complaints for this model year under related names: H3-45 (1). They are counted on those records, not here. Zero is not confirmed for this name.
