Defect: Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2011-2025 Aerial Device, Digger Derrick, and 2022-2025 Service Body vehicles. The cable step wire rope assembly may be improperly secured, which can allow the cable entry step to detach from the vehicle.
Consequence: A cable step that fails during use increases the risk of injury.
Remedy: Altec will provide owners with instructions to inspect the cable crimps. If the cables are improperly crimped, Altec will provide instructions and a kit to replace the wire rope assemblies. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 24, 2025. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Consequence: Unintended movement of the lower and upper booms increases the risk of injury.
Remedy: Altec will install a jumper hose and check valve into the boomtip tank lines and replace the overcenter blocking cartridge with an internally referenced drain path, free of charge. Consequence: If the recovery winch attempts to lift more than it is rated for, it can increase the risk of an injury or death.

Defect: Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain 2012-2018 Altec LS63 and LS87 aerial devices equipped with a pintle hook mounted into the Class 3 receiver tube. This towing combination was shipped without a placard that provides the maximum allowable towing limit, possibly resulting in the receiver tube being overloaded.
Consequence: An overloaded receiver tube could detach, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Altec will notify owners, and provide them with a placard that states the limit of the receiver tube assembly as 600lbs vertical load, and 6,000lbs towing capacity, free of charge.
