4 recalls.

26V600000

Date: 2026-09-18. Systems: EQUIPMENT.

Defect: Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2009-2025 Volvo 9700 buses. The emergency exit label on the entrance door is missing the exit operating instructions. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

Consequence: The missing information may prevent or delay the use of the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Prevost will replace the emergency exit identification labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 3, 2026. Owners may contact Prevost's customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR26-84. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 25, 2026.

Do not drive: No. Park outside: No.

25V469000

Date: 2025-07-16. Systems: EQUIPMENT.

Defect: Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Volvo 9700 buses. Metallic debris within the electrical connectors of the Automatic Fire Suppression System (AFSS) may cause a short circuit, resulting in a false warning to the driver, an engine shutdown, and the release of chemical fire extinguishing agent in the engine compartment.

Consequence: An unexpected engine shutdown increases the risk of a crash. Additionally, a disabled coach bus may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.

Remedy: Prevost will inspect and remove any metallic debris from the AFSS connectors, if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 28, 2025. Owners may contact Prevost's customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR25-85.

Do not drive: No. Park outside: No.

24V524000

Defect: Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2024 Volvo 9700 vehicles. The castellated nuts securing the steering gear link rod to the steering arm and/or the pitman arm may not have been tightened properly, which can allow it to loosen.

Consequence: A loose steering gear link rod can cause a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Prevost will tighten the castellated nuts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 18, 2024. Owners may contact Volvo Bus customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Volvo Bus' number for this recall is SR24-84.

Defect: Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain 2024 Volvo 9700 vehicles. The castellated nut securing the steering gear link rod to the steering arm may be loose and allow the link rod to detach.

Consequence: A detached link rod can cause a loss of steering control and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the repair has been performed. Prevost will inspect and tighten the castellated nuts and install new cotter pins as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 22, 2024. Notes on this record

  • Complaints from the API and bulk file are merged and deduplicated by ODI number; the API alone misses records.
  • System and subsystem counts are numbers of distinct complaints, recalls or communications that name them. One record can name several systems, so shares across systems can add to more than 100 percent; a single share never exceeds 100 percent.
  • Recalls are counted once per campaign, investigations once per action and manufacturer communications once per NHTSA id, even when NHTSA lists several model names for the same record.
  • A sales denominator is a calendar-year proxy, not the population of vehicles still in use. Rates are copied from verified pipeline output.
  • NHTSA's complaints API and bulk file list no complaint for this make, model and model year in this data build.
